Hey Everyone, just wanted to take a minute to share some pictures from our first women’s rape safe class that took place this past Sunday. It was a great turnout and we just wanted to thank everyone that was able to attend. We are definitely going to have another rape safe class in the future, and if you have a loved one please spread the word!

On June 6th, 1982 the Gracie family lost one of its most talented fighters and a leader to an entire generation: Rolls Gracie.
His legacy is as big as the great influence he had on all those around him. His open mind allowed significant improvements on our art as many techniques from other styles like Judo, Wrestling, and Sambo became used more often in BJJ.
On 1982 Rolls Gracie died during a hang gliding accident in the mountains of Maua. After his death, his studens called upon Carlos Gracie Jr. to continue Rolls work at the schools an the seed of Gracie Barra was planted.
We all miss you Master Rolls. Although most of us have never met you, your legacy lives with us.

After Sundays class we will head out to the World Tournament at Cal State Long Beach to watch the black belt finals. Whoever would like to come we will be leaving around 10:15am. If you cant make it till later we should be there all day, please visit www.IBJJF.org for more information.
Hey guys, Its so nice to see the school growing so fast, also to see so many of our students get there first stripes on there belts. Everyone is now starting to see there hard training paying off.

We would like to thank all GB competitors, instructors and supporters who are participating in our preparation for the Worlds 2009. Seems like this year everyone showed up and the level of the training sessions is very impressive, the amount of history and talent in each session is unbelievable.
It has been a great learning experience for all of us.
