Grand opening update

Hello all, I know its been a long time coming but we are almost there with finishing the construction and getting ready to start class’s. We will be posting the date and contacting all that we have talk to already about our grand opening a soon as we get word from the contractors (we are hoping 2-3 more weeks). We just wanted to say thank you to all that have been so supportive with our new school in Fullerton.

We would like to invite women from all GB Schools to get together Saturday, Feb 28 at 9am for a fun “Class e Breakfast”.

We will have an outstanding class that will be followed by a breakfast where students from different GB Schools chance to meet, know each other better and have fun.

Professor Ricardo Guimaraes receives his 2nd degree

We are proud to announce that the Gracie Barra Temecula Head Instructor Professor Ricardo Guimaraes received yesterday his 2nd degree on the Black Belt from the hands of his Instructor Professor Marcelo Pereira.

At Gracie Barra we follow the ibjjf guidelines and to receive a 2nd degree Black Belt our Professors need to be for at least 6 years on the Black Belt.

Congrats Professor Ricardo Guimaraes.

We had a wonderfully successful inaugural event, with over 300 competitors, and 1200 spectators.

With your continued support we can build an even bigger and better tournament this time around. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Gracie Barra Gets 3rd Place at the 2009 European Open

The Gracie Barra Team was once again in the podium of a major tournament. Our Head Quarters is getting on more trophy for the 3rd Place in the Adult division of the 2009 European Open Championship.

The vent was awesome and many GB Black Belts had an impressive participation getting up to the the finals. The name of the event was our dear professor Braulio Estima, Head Instructor of GB Birmingham. Braulio, was the absolute champion and also took first place at the heavy weight division.

Jiu Jitsu loses it’s icon

 

It is with great sadness that Gracie Barra announces the passing of Grandmaster Helio Gracie. At 95 years of age, the great icon and one of those most responsible for Jiu-Jitsu’s success in Brazil and the world died on Jan 29th, at Beneficencia Portuguesa Hospital, in Petropolis, mountain region of Rio de Janeiro.

We are sure his spirit will live in the hearts of all BJJ lovers and practitioners.

The Gracie Barra School leaves here an homage to a the Great Grand Master and our gratitude for all he has done for this incredible and noble art.

Our hearts go out to his family.
